This is a great little book that is fun to read. It first appeared on thecatwhowrites.com and won a ‘How To’ competition on Problogger in 2013.
The author, Pooh (aka The Cat Who Writes), was a regular columnist on The Write Practise, and wrote the book with the help of his typist, Pamela. Pooh has sadly passed away now, and his work is now continued by Harper, the new Cat Who Writes.
How To Be A Cat takes the reader through the steps needed to become a cat, including finding the right family, how to amuse your family, and the other changes that are required. Each section has a checkbox to mark off when the step is complete and has a great accompanying illustration.
The book is written in a serious tone, but for me that added to the humour. I love the illustrations in the book and the information about the writer and typist at the end.
If you’re looking for something a little different to read, this is a great book. If you want your cat to behave, try reading it to them!
I’m going to read my copy to my daughter’s cat—especially section 10…
My rating: 4 paws out of 5.
How To Be A Cat can be purchased at Amazon (Australia) and Amazon (US - includes paperback)
